A show for hand puppets, humans and other animated forms inspired by the dance macabre.

To die in a theatre is a difficult thing! There are few deaths that take place directly on the theatre scene. On the contrary, in their life, the puppets and all the family of nominated objects are incredible at ease to kill  themselves, and to kill others, to be instantly born again. The sheaths and a few brushes of a paintbrush gives a body a sly and humor like a type of morbid dance. Lets laugh gaily concerning all these suicides and  murders of puppets which are as many occasions to make fun of the world and amuses those who are alive.

Jean-Pierre Larroche and Les Ateliers du Spectacle have been devising boundary-breaking visual theatre that uses objects, drawings and words like they were actors on stage. In Tête de mort Jean-Pierre Larroche combines hand puppets and drawings to maliciously tell us about death… Death is everywhere, but this one is a charming Death who makes jokes as he shamelessly swings his sickle, spreading riddles and ingeniously blending in with the living.

The inanimate comes to life: we see the show absolutely fascinated and enchanted by the poetry and malice of his constants rebirths.

“Our Death doesn’t talk much, preferring to play with words, inventing tricks, puns and rebuses”.
