For Giuseppe Antonio Borgnis (1781-1863), mechanics is defined as the science of balance and movement. "Mechanics" is a cycle of research and creation from the study of mechanical engineering. The practice is a source of learning: the objects are designed, built and tested, the results are analyzed and their synthesis are refocused. This process results in objects that expose the mechanical practice through a universe of poetic images.

“Mecânica 1 – maquete” is the first result of this cycle. In a structure no larger than the two performer’s bodies, a succession of events generated by the manipulation of the various elements that compose the object.
